Basye/Bryce Mountain Lions Club Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Lions club is gearing up to help needy families who may not have the Thanksgiving that many of us are accustom to celebrating. They are counting on your support to help fill food collection boxes that have been placed at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Mount Herman United Methodist Church, and in the lobby of the Bryce Resort Main Lodge. The Lion's Club will be making up 20 to 25 food baskets for needy families in the Shenandoah Valley. This year there are more families than previous years who are in need. The Lion's Club will purchase 12 - 14 lb turkeys, and pumpkin pies for each family and ensure that all food baskets have the traditional Thanksgiving dinner of mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, yams, green beans, and cranberry sauce.

For additional meals after Thanksgiving, food items will also be added such as corn, peas, pork & beans, beets, carrots, mixed fruit, peaches, fruit juices, soups, cereal, beef stew, spaghetti, peanut butter, chili, apple sauce, several loaves of bread and many other non-perishable food items.  Food collection boxes will be in place on Sunday, November 1st.  Thank you for donating only non-perishable food items.

The food baskets will be delivered to those in need on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
