Summer Camps

Golf Camp

Junior Golf Camp is an annual event scheduled for June 25 - June 29, 2012. Under the supervision of PGA Professional Doug Zimmerman, two separate camps are organized to accommodate children of all skill levels, ages 5 - 17 . Budding young golfers, ages 5 - 7, have one-and-a-half hours of instruction each morning Monday - Thursday, while golfers ages 8 - 17 have two-and-a-half hours of instruction on Monday - Thursday. The week culminates in a Junior Club Championship Tournament, picnic lunch and family awards ceremony on Friday. Registration forms available in the spring.

Golf school fees include: Lessons, Jr. Golf Materials, Practical Drills, Golf Camp T-shirt, Range Balls, Jr. Club Championship, Picnic Lunch and Awards on Friday. Family may attend picnic lunch for a separate booster fee. A special zipline tour on Tuesday afternoon is also included in the registration fee. The child may opt out; -$20 off the registration fee.

Tennis Camp

Tennis Professional Rob Arner has been hosting tennis camp and entertaining children for sixteen years at Bryce Resort. His use of games and drills get younger children moving and practicing footwork, learning proper grips and swing techniques, and working on hand/eye coordination. More seasoned players will benefit from Coach Arner's many years of professional coaching experience. Bryce offers annual youth tennis camps for children ages 5 - 14 years, as well as Adult Tennis Camp for players over 14 years.

We are excited that the Soccer Camp will be sponsored by Bryce Resort this year. Coach Marshall Howser will be conductiong the camp again this year. He has stellar credentials:

Coaching diplomas thriugh the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Gold Diploma for soccer from the National Association of Youth Sports.

Annual education through the Virginia High School League.

CPR and first-aid, concussion certification through the VHSL.

USSF certified referee

Head coach JV and Asst. Head Coach Varsity soccer program at SJHS.

Instructor for the PALS Academy in Destin Fl. Schools world wide, and in the U.S.

Director of Coaching Education for the Shenandoah County Soccer League.

Member of the VYSA.

He has taught soccer camps for more than 10 years, including summer camps at University of Maryland under April Heirich, former Head coach of women at Md. and former National Women's team head coach.

Art Camp

In 2012, Bryce Resort will offer its 5th annual Art Camp to kids aged 4 - 12. Campers are enrolled in age appropriate groups and enjoy learning about many different art forms. Guest instructors specializing in various art forms lead the children through their daily activities. Examples of 2010 offerings were painting, sculpting, collage making, outdoor sketching, making tumblebugs, puppets, and basket weaving. In addition kids enjoyed music, a Magic Show, yoga, acting in plays, and making a synchronized swimming video!

Art Camp 2012 (ages 8-12) is scheduled for July 9 - 13. Registration Forms available in late spring.
Art & Nature Camp 2012 (ages 4-7) is scheduled for July 23-27. Registration Forms available in late spring.

Nature Camp

Bryce Resort's fourth annual Nature Camp is scheduled for July 16-20. Kids aged 8 -12 will learn about: trees and other plant life, water quality and conservation, gardening and earthworms, bees and other insects, local geology, photography, birds and other wildlife; hiking and swimming; nature creations and more! Field trips and guest speakers specializing in wildlife, geology, and ecology all contribute to this exciting educational program. Your kids will never have so much fun learning, and Mom and Dad will have time to hit the links or go for a zip line tour.

Fees include instruction, materials, swimming, and lunch beverages. Campers need to bring a snack, sack lunch and water bottle, and wear appropriate shoes for hiking.
