Fishing
Lake Laura and local streams are stocked by the state with fish including bass, pike, perch, walleye, catfish and native trout.

You may fish along the shore of Lake Laura, or by renting a paddle boat or canoe during boating and swimming hours (see above); however, no fishing is permitted within the beach area. State fishing licenses are available in Woodstock (18 miles.....540-459-9229) at Walmart, 461 W. Resevoir Road, Woodstock, VA 22664, or you may purchase a license online from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. If you are Virginia Resident less than sixteen years old or a Non-Resident less than 12 years old, you do not need a fishing license.
